Program Details

Airport Transportation To Hotel

Upon arrival in San Diego, you will proceed to the baggage claim area where you will be met by Top Performers ’99 Travel Staff holding “Top Performers ‘99” signs. The Top Performers travel staff will direct you to your transportation to the hotel.

Changes And Cancellations

If you need to make any changes to your reservations for the Top Performers ’99 program, or if you are unable to attend, please notify Top Performers Travel Headquarters immediately via email at Oracle@tpgnc.com or call 800-942-6020 or 510-923-9139 (outside U.S.).

Changes to your travel plans after tickets have been issued could result in penalty charges and these charges will be the responsibility of the ticket holder. Failure to notify Top Performers Travel Headquarters of your cancellation could result in substantial “no show” penalty charges for unused hotel accommodations. All cancellation and penalty charges for unused airline tickets and hotel reservations will be your responsibility.

If you are already en route to San Diego on August 22 and changes in your arrangements have occurred, please call the Top Performers Travel Headquarters Hospitality Desk at the hotel, 619-558-1500. The hotel operator will gladly connect you or take a message.

Climate

The weather in the San Diego/La Jolla region has been described as the most nearly perfect weather in America, averaging 70° Fahrenheit (21° Centigrade) year-round. In August, the average daytime temperature ranges from 75° to 80° Fahrenheit (24° to 26° Centigrades.). The evening temperature ranges from 60° to 70° Fahrenheit (16° to 21° Centigrades).

Extended Stay/Personal Travel

Do you plan to include personal travel with your Top Performers trip? If yes, please read below. Requests for personal travel must be made at the time of registration for the Top Performers ’99 program. Special airline contracts have been negotiated on behalf of Top Performers ‘99 from the qaulifier's home city to San Diego round trip on program dates August 22-25, 1999. Oracle Corporation will pay for the lowest available airfare from your home city to San Diego. You will be responsible for any travel expenses incurred for personal travel outside of the Top Performers program. Top Performers Travel Headquarters can assist you in making those personal travel arrangements. There will be a $25.00 non-refundable processing fee for all personal travel and extension requests. Personal travel arrangements will include rental car, rail, tours and hotels. This fee is per person and will be charged to your personal credit card.

Gratuities and Tips

Arrangements have been made to cover all gratuities associated with the Top Performers ’99 program including bellmen, maid service, baggage handling, drivers and group meal function waitstaff. It is suggested that you tip only for personal services not included in the program.

Ground Transportation

Transportation will be provided between the San Diego International Airport and the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines on the program arrival, August 22, and departure, August 25. All other transfers outside the program date to and from the airport will be at your own expense. Transfer time from the San Diego International Airport to the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines is approximately 30 minutes.

Guests

Each qualifier is allowed to invite one adult guest to the Top Performers ’99 program. A guest is defined as your spouse or significant other. In the event that you and your guest are both Oracle employees, you will not be allowed to invite additional guests.

Hotel

When you arrive at the hotel, please check–in at the Top Performers ’99 Hospitality Desk. You will receive your room key, activity confirmation, and other pertinent information. The Hospitality Desk will be open daily, August 22-25 to assist you and your guest.

Non U.S. Attendees

Non U.S. travelers are required to make their own air travel arrangements through their own country’s Oracle preferred travel agency. Please be aware of the various visa requirements for your originating country into the U.S. You should inquire from your personal travel agency as to these requirements or contact Top Performers Travel Headquarters for this country specific information.

Luggage

The luggage allowance for most airlines is approximately 60 lbs. of checked luggage per person. Two carry-on items are allowed and must fit in either the overhead compartment or under a seat. If you have specific questions, please contact the airline on which you are booked for more information. It is advisable to pack your passport, jewelry, medicines, a fresh change of clothing (including your bathing suit), and any other items you may need immediately in your carry-on luggage, in the event that your luggage is delayed.

Luggage Tags

Before you leave home, please attach a Top Performers ’99 luggage tag to each piece of your checked luggage. These tags are essential in identifying you as a Top Performer to our ground transportation personnel Travel Staff as well as to the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines staff. It is also a good idea to include full identification inside each piece of luggage in the event that the outer tags are lost in handling.

Name Badges

Your Top Performers ‘99 name badge will arrive with your final travel documents, approximately 10 days prior to your departure. Please wear your name badge upon arrival at the San Diego International Airport to facilitate meeting the Travel Staff in the baggage claim and to all Top Performers '99 events.

Personal Expenses

Upon your arrival at the hotel, you will be required to give a credit card imprint for any additional personal expenses you may incur during Top Performers ‘99. Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone, facsimile, gift shop, hotel parking, bar charges (including in-room minibar), lounge, restaurant and any meals or snacks taken apart from the sponsored functions will be at your own expense. The hotel will maintain a separate account for these incidentals and you must settle your account prior to your departure from the hotel.

Taxation (Applicable to U.S. employees only)

The qualifier will be taxed on the domestic guest’s incremental cost for the Oracle Top Performers ’99 program. The incremental cost is based on your guest’s round-trip airfare from the U.S. qualifier's home city to San Diego, CA plus the cost of your guest’s ground transportation and meals. For example, if your guest’s airfare is $775.00 and the group transportation and meals cost is $225.00, the total incremental cost would be $ 1050.00 – this is the amount you will be taxed on. At a combined 40% federal and state tax rate, the total cost to you to bring your guest would be $420.00. Note: Tax rates vary based upon your state and year-to-date wages. This non-cash fringe benefit will be reflected during two pay periods, and resulting taxes will be taken out of these paychecks. You will be notified before this occurs.

Time Zone

La Jolla is in the same time zone as Oracle Corporation Headquarters. If it is 12:00 PM (noon) in La Jolla, it is 8:00 PM in London.

Travel

Scheduled arrival in San Diego is August 22 returning August 25, 1999. The Top Performers ’99 program will begin with a cocktail reception the evening of August 22 at 6:30 PM and conclude with breakfast "To-Go" on August 25. Should you wish to extend beyond program dates, or make any changes to your itinerary once ticketed, any additional costs will be at your personal expense and will be billed to your credit card. The Top Performers Travel Staff will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your transportation upon arrival August 22 and departure August 25.

U.S. Attendees

A customer service agent from Top Performers Travel Headquarters will be contacting you to confirm your airline reservations within 48-hours after receiving your registration form. Special airline rates have been negotiated for Top Performers ’99 attendees by contracting air blocks with specific carriers. We will do our best to accommodate your preference of flight time and seating arrangements based upon airfare budget, airline contract commitments, space availability and the airline’s advance seating policy. Please do not use Oracle Travel for this year’s program.
